Lake Como

No yellow bass yet but was able to get enough little gills for a fish fry last weekend so my granddaughter wanted to go gill fishing last night.
We got down there around 6pm and it was nice and calm and as soon as she grabbed her pole the wind switch and started blowing in our face.
She was catching a few gills and then she hooked one, started reeling it in and then the rod doubled over and the line broke above the bobber.
So, a minute or so went by and I saw her bobber pop up and I talked her into going after it and she would get close and it would go under after a few tries she finally grabbed the bobber but there wasn't a fish on it anymore, but at least I got the bobber and ice fly back.

Fished Como for about 30 yrs and I’ve finally caught a pike over 30”.   This one is just shy of 32”.

Out 1-4pm today, 7 flags / 5 pike 25” and smaller 

svitreum, Lakeside Bait and Tackle posted a video of Como and Delavan under the Delavan thread.  I believe it was 6-7”.

If anyone fishes this morning and can provide an ice thickness report it would be greatly appreciated. I might get a chance this afternoon to sneak out a few hours and soak shiners. Thanks guys!

How’s the ice holding up and how are the conditions of the shoreline? 

Ou here now.  Got a few northerns so far.  A full size truck just drove past me on the lake.  I only got 8 inches of ice where I'm at. He made it back to the launch but not a good idea to be out here in a truck

I've caught 2 cats from this lake through the ice. Both were 7-8#.

Access is at the boat launches. Check Google maps. One on N/E side, one on S/W side.

Never fished this lake. I’m curious about where to access this lake from I would assume it’s at the end of dam road is where I go off of but I’m not sure. And wondering if I’m allowed to take an atv off of there.

Late report. Went out Monday from 9:30 to 4pm. Ice was 8.5". Slick and highly recommend creepers  Steady action all day and people on the lake were chasing flags all day as well. My son and I went 17 for 20 with 8 keeper largemouth all 15 to 16 inch and the rest pike up to 23 in. Last fiah of day, flag 20, was a channel cat. Ice fished here for decades and can't recall pulling one up through the ice. All on medium and large roaches.
