hi im looking for a place to trap a few coons close to appleton to try for taxidermy projects. i'll be using killer traps in buckets so not being close to pets would be nice? i also have bad knees in my old age so hopefully its not hard to get to! thank you

I wish they made a poison besides lead for them. So many around here. Wreak havoc on my corn fields

I'm really intrigued by the blumgi slime discussions! How do you think this kind of creative play impacts our problem-solving skills? It seems like there's more to it than just fun!

I had a pet Raccoon that raised on a bottle at first and grew to over 35 because he ate so much.

PALMERTON, Pa. – The world’s weightiest raccoon, famed for his junk-food jones, has died after tipping the scales at nearly 75 pounds.

A trail cam is not "out in the woods".  The biggest beaver I ever caught was 48# on the scale, it stretched out as a "blanket" size.  The biggest I have ever seen was 60#, a "super blanket".  Biggest raccoon I ever caught was a 35# male- a silver monster.  Scales don't lie, but pictures do.

That 55# coon that I referred to has stuck in my mind for many years but the mind can change throughout the years.     As Z has said,       WITHOUT A PICTURE ITS JUST ANOTHER STORY.    LOL

You guys are really over exaggerating  a racoons weight. You show me a 80 to 100 pound raccoon in the wild, and I'll show you a honest politician.
Are any of you fishermen ?
Raccoons typically weigh between 12 and 36 pounds, but can vary significantly based on factors like genetics, age, diet, and habitat. While large wild specimens can reach over 40 pounds, individuals in captivity, especially those with unhealthy diets, can weigh 50 pounds or more. Males are generally heavier than females.
Average weight: Most adult raccoons weigh between 12 and 36 pounds. Larger raccoons: Some wild raccoons can reach 40 pounds or more, though this is rare.

You guys need to get in the woods more.  On my bear bait cam had several racoons one was comparatively larger. 80#.  Beaver 80# Otter 60# . If you know what dogs and deer weigh and seen enough wild critters its obvious some animals grow big in the wild and not hard to estimate their weight is well beyond ordinary.

Edge.   Same with coyotes, a neighbor had his sweet corn patch destroyed by a pack of them this summer.    In the past wild animals feared humans, now we feed them.

Edge the biggest racoon I ever saw was in your area between Ripon and Green Lk. A man shot it while pheasant hunting. Very large animal close to 100 pounds easy what a beast.  That was 50 years ago.

A 100lb. coon ?        Bud light or Coors ?

Carpio, that was the good old days.October, November you could go outside at night and see lights and hear dogs. Had no coon issues back then. Then the bleeding hearts stepped in. Now look at we got.
Talked to a farmer the other day. He bought a night vision scope and over the summer he shot over 300 coon. Might give that a whirl. Coon do so much damage to corn crop.

Biggest one I’ve ever trapped was a nasty 58#er.    Got a buck a pound live weight from the buyer in Antioch.      For those who are uninformed “ live weight “ does not mean that I brought it in alive.😱🤣
