The bluegills have been huge this year on the chain. Every one I catch is a stud 9-10” I went to a hotspot on Saturday. I was kind of happy that I only caught a couple gills. That means they either got cleaned out or have moved. Hopefully they get a break. I got off the Babcock landing and walked past the fish cleaning station. It was busy with people cleaning huge gills. I kept a couple for myself as well. And the bass were biting as well. It’s been fun so far get out there and go fishing. And have some patience at the Boat landing. It was getting pretty heated with all the activity. Busy place.

And a bonus sheep head 😁

I do remember a day with my 9 y/o daughter in an opening in the weeds north of the green lantern catching giant bull gills. Great memory. Alot of nice dinners. Now i do it catch n release. My choice. I also dont use an and underwater tv screen etc to find fish. I also dont fish to compete...maybe kill alot of trophies hauling them to the weigh in. Different things bother different fishernen.

Sat - fished off N end had success with mixed bag Walleye / Pike / Crappie / Gills / yellow Bass - all caught working jigs / plastics - couple for a meal.  On another note I agree with lougill what a travesty with some of these guys (no respect for the resource). I about puked when some clown came in fish house and dumped 5 gal buckets of gill carcasses…. Literally 3 bucket full

Well I was super impressed watching the bed slobs catch fish for hours. The nice touch was the flat bottom boat sitting on a bed for hours, while they tossed cigarettes into the lake, just horrible people.
I wish they would close the season during the spawn, but I understand some people can’t catch fish the rest of the year.

If I launch at Lottes am I able to get into Waubesa via Mud Lake under the bridge? Have never tried so would appreciate confirmation before I give it a go. Thanks!

Water temp was 63.5 when I left Monday night - 5-18.  Gunge in the bay made things lil frustrating - found a few dumb ones.

Big thank you to whoever turned in my wallet today at Lake Farm! Just picked it up from the Verona PD, Huge relief, thank you so much for being a Good Samaritan.

Not only that, but on our way back in a guy stopped to ask if we needed a tow after noticing we’d been having engine trouble earlier. Luckily, we only had a short distance left and could make it in with the trolling motor, but it was really thoughtful of him to check.

Really appreciate both of you out there and hope the 2026 season brings you great fishing karma. You've inspired me to pay it forward next time I can help someone out.

As I read awhile back that Lake Farm was closing for repairs this Spring and I'm planning on a trip out from Milwaukee, is there any more  info on the specific time this is happening? I know  I can switch to Babcock but don't want to drive to a closed launch. Thanks in advance for any info.
