Waubesa Lake

Has anyone been out on a boat yet? Just curious if any piers are in or if Ice is off the lake

Yes no one should fish Waubesa anymore unless you want to take a swim. We were out from Bible camp. Caught a few eyes with 2 keepers. 1 nice perch and several northern. Has around 5 inches but ice was going fast. So all was well until we got most of the way in and fell through. Ice in the bay by Bible camp is getting very bad. So don't go out!!!

Calling it a season! Done. My fishing buddy walked out 50 ft and turned around. Hopefully we can get more ice next December. 4.5 weeks this year

Hi Group,

Had met some guys who fish Waubesa at Muskie Expo this weekend. Feedback from them was that certain areas of vegetation on Waubesa have disappeared in the past couple years. Some discussion on whether it was wave/downward prop wash from wakeboats. Would love any feedback people have on the issue as it relates to Waubesa. 

Blackhawks, yes, I was out from Lake Farm, along with about 50 others. The parking lot was full! The tip of Hog Island is all open water right now. Fishermen were spread out from to the left of the launch all the way to the right of the launch with most people straight out or slightly left of the launch. 

Fishlovme, thank you for the report.  I assume you were fishing near the Lake Farm launch when you saw the angler go through the ice while heading towards Hog Island.  Can you please confirm my assumption?  Thanks in advance and stay safe.

Watched someone fall through that headed towards Hog Island this afternoon. Found a weak spot and went right through. For me, i fished from 2 pm until 5 and only had a few bites, no fish. Saw a couple northern caught. Ice was junk white ice about 5 inches thick then a half inch of "good" ice below the white junk ice. A few people had holes drilled on the more "black" colored ice but most people stayed on the white ice, which won't take long now to be unsafe. Two ATV's flying around from near shore to their holes every once in a while. Also not good for that junk ice!

Still out currently. 7" of ice. My buddy is kicking my ass! Between 3 of us 5 eyes 2 smallies and a couple pike bite offs. Tank 23" eye being the high light so far!

Out of bible camp in a cold morning today. 2 of us perch searched for hours. Where did they all go? Basin from 30-40 fow. Drilled about 75 holes. Marked no schools. Couple fish. Caught 1 10.5". That was it.
