i'm having a problem w/the pulley @ the end of my rigger stripping the coating off my DR cable anybody else? u guys have been a lot of help this year thanks. safety n tight lines to all

You have probably thought of all of these things but here are my thoughts. Check the pulley for a groove. The coated cable is thicker than a standard SS cable and if your downrigger use to have the regular SS cable on it you may have a groove in the pulley. If you want to try widening the pulley groove remove the pulley put it in your cordless drill or drill press chuck. Spin the pulley and use some 100 grit sand paper to smooth and widen the groove. A round jeweler's file would work too. Becareful to not remove too much pulley plastic stock. It always makes sense to retreive the DR probe with the DR horizontal to the boat path. This puts less lateral stress on the DR cable even though the boom pulley swivels. On my Digi-Troll IV HS I found if I used the slow speed to retrieve I didn't chew off the coating. Good Luck SS
