Moose Lake

Probably around 1976 we went to Hasslingers Resort around late May and used Big suckers and got 2- 36" and a 37/12, best day off fishing in southeast Wis

Tried today for anything but focused on big pike in deep water with chubs. Had two fish on but didn't get hooked up. The chub was mangled though. Never saw such huge schools of fish on my locator, probably the stunted bluegills that abound in this lake. But there were some bigger marks below the schools. Used to catch big pike here years ago when the trout were stocked, but there certainly is no shortage of forage for them now with the billions of small bluegills. Anyone have thoughts on this?

got out for a few hours tonight. Definitely not ideal conditions. East wind, cold front moving in, crystal clear water with no weed growth. Took about 2 hours to locate them but once I did it was fun!
