North Twin

Ice went out on Friday 4/24. It was warm on Thursday, along with a strong wind. Friday was also very windy and took out any remaining ice in the area.

When do you think the ice will be off Twin? 

North Twin is not open.

Nearly all lakes in Vilas County now free of ice as of yesterday. Maybe few pieces floating around but that is it. Ice went quick this year. Two weeks ago, ice fishing with 2' of ice. Now none. Poor ice quality in the beginning. 

Curious outlook for opener if lake will be ice free?

Wondering if anyone has an accurate ice report for the lake looking at trying to do some late ce fishing this weekend on north twin lake and forest lake west of land o lakes this weekend. How much ice? Snowmobile or atv? Or walk out ? Fish biting? Any info would be appreciated

Looking for an area to C&R crappie for 2 kids, have a cabin rental this weekend. General idea on location, weeds, etc. would be helpful.

Finally getting to my report for last week (just getting home from an extended adventure).
 7" ice on Monday afternoon, by Wednesday evening there was 10" everywhere I drilled a hole. Used my quad Tuesday on. 
 Catching was tough.
 Managed a legal walleye each day with several shorts, a 21" northern and 1 nice perch to boot. caught most jigging raps & buckshots a few on tip ups. Woulda enjoyed a better bite, but still fun.
 I'm guessing there are vehicles out there by now.

North Twin froze over on Dec 4th. This was after the heavier snow the previous weekend but a bit more has fallen since then. 

I haven’t been past since Dec 7 so can’t speak on current ice thickness. ​

How much ice & snow is there on North Twin? Did the lake freeze over before the snow this past week?
