Slow bite today.  Caught a small Perch on a rosy red and an 18" Northern on a large Fathead.  Not to many people in the lake.  6" of good ice everywhere I drilled.

I was out Saturday. Had a bit more success than Gator, but nothing doing in deeper water. Had a few bass and larger gill shallow (1'-3') areas in the lee. Once the wind picked up there was a very large spread in surface temperatures. With the wind out of the east and an afternoon sun, the lee side of bays on the western half of the lake had water at 59.5-60 degrees vs the 55-57 in the deeper and eastern portions of the lake.

Brought a camera today. Crappies are deep in the weed beds holding tight in 12 to 16 fow but not very active. plenty on baitfish filling the screens in shallows with a few bass around. Managed 1 bass and 1 rock bass but not much else.

Gills are grouped suspended in 25 fow about 16 to 21. Saw a huge walleye under them all with a clipped fin. No one seems to be getting any action......

Dead sea today. Tried all depths with plastics. Not a nibble. Water temp 56 most places. Marked most fish suspended in 12 to 15 fow. Deep water a dead sea. Minnows chasing bugs at dusk but no top water action with jig spinners.  Needs to warm up a bit for the crappies to come in.
