Lake Mary

I appreciate you posting on Lake Mary.  This use to be my favorite lake to ice fish in Kenosha County.  From about 2006-2013, I use to ice fish this lake religiously.  I had a very good spot where we caught some nice panfish and a few decent northern.  We always caught fish and had a great time.  During those years, I saw others catch some nice fish.  I took an ice fishing hiatus for a few years and the last time I fished this lake was 2021.  All I caught were small panfish but did catch a nice, 32 inch northern that was fat.  I bet that fish was damn near 10 pounds.  Haven't fished this lake since.

Definitely a lake with a lot of potential, but I have a feeling a lot of the bigger panfish are no longer in the lake.  It also gets quite a bit of fishing pressure.

We own a house on Lake Mary.  Bought it three years ago.  Was never expecting much from a fishing perspective but I've been happily surprised.  I've caught countless largemouth, loads of panfish and some nice northern and walleye right off our dock.  Biggest northern so far was 38" and they do slam the topwater baits beginning late August into October.  Last summer, I caught my first smallie on a topwater prop bait.  For those who like to use live bait, crawlers work for everything.  Minnows as well but the fish seem to prefer the smaller minnows as opposed to larger roaches.  In July, my neighbor was using pieces of hot dog with his grandaughter to catch bluegills.  She had a nice bluegill on and as she brought it to the pier, the biggest LMB I've ever seen on that lake swallowed it up.  I was able to grab it by the lip so she could get a pic.

Lots of ice fishing and ice houses out on the lake right now.  ATVs and snow mobiles.  Ice is thick and from the activity out in front of our place, I'd say the fishing is pretty good.    

Anyway, I'm hoping to get some actual reports going on here.  Lake Mary is really a great little lake.
