Pier is in at Silver
Hows the ice looking
England Ryan, welcome to the area. I have fished this lake many times over the years. I have had some good, but mostly tough days fishing this lake. My recommendation is go out and start drilling holes. I don’t think the fish sit still very long in this lake. I’ve tried hitting the same spots of where I caught fish in the past with no luck. The fun part is getting out there and finding them. Good luck!
I just moved to the area from out west. Was trying to fish silver lake but not sure what’s out there or where’s a good spot to start. Any advice would be a awesome! Much appreciation!
I'm looking to get out tomorrow to try for some bass or northern (all CPR). I have never fished the lake before. Any unsafe areas I should be aware of? Tips for where weedlines are found would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
A few of us were fishing on Thursday January 14th. We left the lake at dark and pulled our gear up the little hill just west of the launch....some how a BLUE PLASTIC jig box fell out of my buddies shack. The box was filled with all the jigs he’s owned and collected over many years. If found please message me or call 2625012215. We will make it worth your time! Thank you!!
I haven't had a chance to check anything since the snow came, but people I trust tell me that everywhere is just slush and the ice is sketchy. As far as Silver, I don't know what the ice is now. As for Silver, I've only fished it in the spring and the only fish I ever caught was on the northeast corner near where the stream comes in. I've heard others say they've had luck near the boy scout camp.
If you go to this website and click "contour map" at the bottom, it gives a pretty decent picture of what the lake looks like underwater.
Hey 262 I have never fished Silver Lake. Not sure where structure or depth is. Any reports on ice conditions recently? Fowler, Labelle, and Crystal lake have ice but its a sloppy mess.
Checked the ice at the launch today. My guess is about a 1/2" based on just stepping on it. Certainly not ready yet, but moving in the right direction. I checked it about 2 weeks prior and it was still wide open when other lakes were starting to freeze.
61° - 65° F
71° - 75° F
Went back out for a few hours on Thursday. Caught one smaller bass, saw a handful cruising shallow. They weren't on beds yet, but I'm sure by now they are.
