If you time it right you can bed fish smallies at the summerfest lagoon, they tend to be a tad behind the inland lake smallie spawn timing. I showed up last year inmaybe may or early june and there was a smallmouth on a bed roughly ever 30 ft of shore. They must get messed with a lot or I got em on a wrong day because they would spook very easily, had to be stealthy on the approach and cast. Like others said you are better off smallie fishing in the river.

plenty of smb in the harbor around dock and rock areas or out at the breakwalls pretty standard smb areas will produce fish, but like vegas said the milw river is choked full of smb most any access point you can catch them.

goodfishin!

I've not run into them in the harbor.  But I know of a few people who have.
When I've targeted them and had success, it's always been wading the river above Kletsch (sp) Park.
Never got into really big ones, but the action was pretty darned good and they fight like crazy in the current.  Well worth the trips.

I found this thread on lake link with no comments. Is the fishing for smallmouth in the prespawn / spawn time frame good in the harbor? Just getting into fishing this area and would like to fish it more often. Thanks for any info.
