History & Status of the Fishery
A fall nighttime electrofishing survey was conducted on Collinwood Lake on September 12th, 2023, to evaluate young of the year (YOY) and yearling Walleye abundance. A total of 3 YOY were sampled for a catch rate of 3.0/hr, which was below Collinwood's historical average (64.5 fish/hr). This indicated that some natural reproduction occurred. In 2023, no yearlings were sampled. The low YOY and yearling Walleye catches were likely due to the 2023 partial winterkill at Collinwood Lake. Walleye fry will be stocked in 2024 as scheduled.
