But don't worry, we have the power to stop them in their tracks with just a few simple steps. So let's do our part and protect our waters from these unwanted invaders.
History & Status of the Fishery
Greenwood Lake was designated a Tier-1 Sentinel Lake in Minnesota's long term monitoring program in 2013. The purpose of this targeted survey was the collection of water level and water quality data for that program. Water levels were measured whenever a crew was scheduled to be on the lake. Temperature-oxygen profiles were measured near the end of each month.
It appeared that cold-water habitat available for lake trout reached a minimum during August in 2023. Suitable conditions (water temperature < 55 F, dissolved oxygen > 5.0 ppm) existed from 27 ft to 84 ft.
Water gauge readings were very similar to conditions recorded during 2022. These were about a foot higher than levels reported during the drought in 2021.
