Well Panfish P i hope you called the DNR and reported that thief. No need for that kind of blatant behavior

buddy of mine fished below the dam on friday or saturday (not sure) and caught some whitebass on minnows and a couple catiush. unfortunately he witnessed a guy keep 2 muskies in the 30 inch range. he tried to catch up to the guy but before he could talk to him he threw them in his trunk and took off.

A few friends and I tried crappie fishing from the fishing pier where we normally have good luck.  No bites nothing.  The water is very dirty as others have said.

I just drove through the park an hour ago.  Did not see any damage or trees down.  Water fairly dirty from all the rain.  The Little Rock island near the dam is covered with water.

The water snake, although not venomous, is extremely territorial and can be quite aggressive, including biting.  Sounds like you’re not too comfortable with snakes, but I wouldn’t cozy up to it.

Bornfishin, YES correct on that snake!  I had to look it up, I’ve never seen one so close up, was pretty cool just to sit and observe it taking in some warmth. I generally don’t like snakes, as long as both have respect for each other we are good!

Before anybody starts claiming that the snake was a water moccasin.... It's not..... Northern water snake. No venom. But, they can get pretty good sized!
