Water level slightly high. We decided to get a row boat, some extra large fatheads, and a dozen crawlers. I haven't used crawlers in a long time, only because little fish nibble away at them. On crawlers, caught a 3 lb flathead cat and a 2 lb largemouth. My buddy caught a nice size crappie and a 2 lb channel cat on the minnows. As suspected, I ran out of crawlers due to nibbles from various little fish but it helped me remember how much fun crawlers can be. The catch is always a mystery and there is always some type of action. We caught these fish just off the small creek and main channel just off the edge of the current. You can get there by row boat but it's a struggle sometimes fighting your way through the moderate to strong flow. It appeared that large channel cats were being caught right off the bank today. We saw people reel in some beauties. Concession guy said crappies and even walleye have been biting today. This was the first day the temp was in the 70s, it has been in the 90s. Looks like the cool down lead to decent activity. Hope this helps.

Was bottom-fishing for carp, but caught a catfish with corn. This cutie hit a 1/16 ounce jig.

Hit the dam Sunday. High water, gates open, lots of current. Managed 1 walleye just short of legal. 3/8" black jig with a 3.8" Kalins grub. My buddy came up empty. Saw 1 other walleye caught, looked to be a slot fish possibly. Won't get back for 2 weeks. Hopefully some walleye will still be there.

Went out today between 9am -1pm ... Alot of people were on top of the dam , fished below the dam using minnows for at least 2 1/2 hrs and not a single bite! Switch to a jerkbait for one more hour and nothing there either!! So I gave up and went to talk to some people fishing and everybody said nothing has been biting since early this morning and water was still too cold but a few people have caught some walleye but not much. Even the people in boats not catching anything either, give it a few more weeks and they will start moving in! Will try again maybe then. Good luck everyone Keep fishing!!
Any fishing reports? Thanks
Things for the info Nature Boy !
They r there now and it will only get better for the neet few weeks. U just have to work for them. I know some guys that caught some yesterday including 4 keepers. Fishing from a boat.
Thinking about doing some walleye fishing at the dam, does anyone know about when they start running? Last year I went around the second weekend of April and nothing was happening at all. So I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on them!

Went out around 9 am Tuesday morning and stayed till 1 pm to try my luck on Channel Cats. Was fishing near the boat docks Northside of the Dam... was using my own carp bait and also catfish bait in a bait holder with corn on my side hook. Caught 3 Channel Cats all around 20 inches and weighting 5 lbs each! Great day and weather for fishing!

Went out for a quick test ride after making a repair to my Optimax (first one in 9 years...Thank you Mercury). Coil on #2 cylinder went bad, easy fix.
Figured as long as I was out there....
Headed up to the dam and threw a #5 Shad Rap into the tailwater off the old gates and WHAM!! 10 minutes later I had 31.5# of Flathead in the net! Not foul hooked either, he ate it!!
For perspective the Golden Rule in the pic is 22.5" L.
