Recent Tournaments Results suggest all is Not well with the system ! 225 Boats and 450 of the (Best) walleye fishermen in the country and over 1/2 cannot catch one fish In a 3 day tournament! Only a handful of angler Teams reported a 5 fish limit, and this is with NO size limit! Weather conditions were very good every day, with just a few wet conditions! Wi.DNR should do a re-evaluation and maybe some honest answers about this system!

The best Walleye Lake in the USA, Lake Erie" has a 15" size limit. Our lake managers are not looking out for the fishermen.

Not as I see it.  Everybody just look at results.

That being said I don't disagree that 'bago is grossly over harvested for a number of years now.

I don't see that as a "Pro" tournament, the vast majority of folks that fish are no different than you or I. Most are just local anglers who toss their hat in a big tournament on their favorite body of water. There are VERY few actual pro anglers, but there are plenty of self proclaimed pro's.

Secondly the information I saw in the official results showed 284 boats and only 17 zeros for both days. There was 81 total blanks but that was over 568 (284 x 2 days) fishing days then too. Numbers can look as good or bad as you want to present them.

I think if you ask around, for whatever reason, fishing was just bad last weekend on all bodies of water.

Another Pro tournament and 81,  2 man teams got ZERO 15" fish for 2 days in a row. No weather problems, no problems period, just a very low number of fish over 15". WAKE UP.

Dang I should have been in that tournment, doing much better this year than last.Size is up also.I think it's more that the day of that tournment it was just on a day with few fish moving  thru.

75 teams; 31 go without a fish.

Shaping up to be a lean year.

Have been fishing Winnebago only 10 years, and have noticed changes in the perch and walleye concentrations. Crappie went from not many to a lot. We do not keep any walleye under 16" or over 22". We also were happy to see the 3 bag limit on eyes. The system is working but again have been fishing Winnebago only 10 years, still learning!!

The DNR is having a series of meetings on Walleye management for the state. Look at meeting dates on web site and apply for meeting. They will listen to this type of input. this is the site https://dnr.wi.gov/calendar/meetings/ Lets be serious please.
