Sams pro release on a tx-44

I purchased 2 for my tx-44's. After looking around on the web and searching a bit, I came up with what I thought would work. Yeah, it don't. I put a small eye bolt at the rear of the board and then a red offshore clip. Then put the sams pro on the front bracket. I roof one stock screw out and rotated the stock bracket so it's vertical. Then I just mounted the sams pro. It all mounts up fine, but after the SAMs pro released and the board turns around, she dives and sinks bad. Hell, in a pinch , I could use it as a dipsey! In all... Help me rig it.

I checked at the Wharf, "Copper" Ziggy boards are $29.99 and "Godzilla" boards are $34.99 without releases. They also sell the Sams Pro and Or-16 Offshore releases to rig them.

The ziggys are lighter for sure. I tried them for the past year and need to get back down to Sheboygan to grab some more. Can anyone get me a price on them b4 I call around?

I guess I just assumed they were on 44's. Yeah, if they are still heavy to run, I might as well try the ziggys.

We do run them but 99% run them on Ziggy boards. I'll see if I can dig out my TX-44's to show you how I had them rigged. They didn't dive but were still very heavy to reel in.

I do really appreciate everyones comments. Am I really one of the few that is trying to run this set up? I thought all the guys in Sheboygan run these?

Looks like next season you will have more to choose from as Off Shore is producing a new larger in-line planer the OR-37 Mag Planer. It comes with the adjustable OR 18 snapper up front and the red OR 16 on the rear. http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/articles/07.22.2015/8778/Off.Shore.Tackle.Intorduces.SST.PRO.MAG.In-Line.Board/ Grey Beard

Yeah the walleye boards are too small for my liking. I ran 10 colors and they really lag too far back. I will give your suggestions a try.

To make it track better I have my eye bolt on the back end of the board and the sams release I would turn 90 degrees to have it trip horizontally. And if all you are running is 10 colors....the walleye board is enough beef for that but I too use what I have.

So here is my current set up. To be honest, I'm not sure the SAMs pro will be that effective on the tx-44. Is anyone else trying this? I would really like to find a way to have the board "center" behind the boat with 10 colors of lead out when a fish is on. AND not sink like a dipsey.....

The ziggys are nice. I bought 2 at a keating seminar for $40 from a vendor. Just lost one north of Kewaunee sunday night tho. How much are they for the godzillas?

Ditch the TX-44 boards and purchase a set of "Ziggy Boards" at the Wharf in Sheboygan and your diving issues will be over. I've got a set of TX-44's in the garage I used on two trips and now they collect dust.

Contact church web site available tell them you pin broke , I told them last year about the problem , They offered to sell the metal pin cheaper . PS They seem to think I was crazy . If we band together on this problem we may get some thing like free pins . I have lost 2 boards already they are not cheep . My tx 44 broke and tx 22 .

I have broke the pin on the back of my 44 a yr ago and just broke the other. I also have an eye bolt on the back with a red clip. And after 20 trips or so with dragging 450s 300s...I noticed the pin in that red clip got sawed off. I have the copper with braid backing without the mono board segment. I am going to order a stainless replacement pin from bloodruns website as I feel that is the way to go. Hope that helps with another future problem
