banjo minnow hook

I consider the banjo minnow hook to be the most important hook in my arsenal of hooks for bass fishing. I am entering ( if they have them this year) my 44th year of  fishing bass tournaments.  unfortunately since Wayne Huckmiere died 6 years ago, unless you buy the kit for 20 some dollars that comes with only 5 #1/0 hooks, no one has any idea where they might be purchased.  there are some BMH's on ebay that go for a dollar apiece, but they are always the smaller #6 and 8 hooks.  when Wayne was alive I could get 20 hooks for 2.75 cents.  I am currently dealing with someone from china to try and get them made out of a stronger metal and in black nickel as the original hook was kind of weak and would rust faster than any other hook known to me. there was no finer hook for skipping into blowdowns or under docks than the BMH.  I use to silver solder two together just for skipping into blowdowns. the hook was so weedless that no matter deep into the blowdown you could work the senko back out without getting hung up. also use them with a solder head worms, flipping into pockets.  Deadly. I have none left and even if I can get them made in china, who knows how long it would take to get them done. if anyone has the #1/0's or has the same interest that I do, please respond

I agree with the banjo minnow hook comments. someone gave me a number of these years ago and I recently ran out. I'd be interested in knowing if there is a replacement or solution or if you need to make a batch order, I'm in. I'll maybe try one of the Eagle claws and report back if the rubber band works.

nihsif thank u for responding but u couldn't  have been looking at a bmh because the bmh has it's eye parallel  to the shaft, barb and point.  the eye has a litttle gap in it and that's where you put the rubber band thru, and then to the barb creating the best weedless hook ever. set backs.... weak hook and rusted fast.  needed a pliers or a pair of hemostats to remove the hook due to it's kahle style . thanks again and stay safe

maybe contact Eagle Claw... made in America and with what's going on in the world,  China might be an undesirable source.

...also,  any idea who made them for banjo minnow? was it made by the person you mentioned... is there a banjo minnow manufacturer?
