Mercury 150hp throttle

any idea what this screw is for? Mine is loose and I can't tighten it. It just spins.

Thank you for the reply's, I have been out of town the last couple weeks. I will take the 2 Phillips screws out and check it out this weekend.

I agree, throttle friction screw.

If it isn't giving you problems, then I wouldn't worry about it.

I would guess the same.... throttle friction adjustment. 
Back out those two Philips head screws, cover should pop off. Maybe something went haywire behind the curtain.

Possibly a throttle tensioner to adjust how much force is needed to move the throttle lever.
