Problems with Marcum LX 9

I just updated my LX9 software. I'm still having trouble seeing my 1/4 oz jig in 28' fow. The last 12" - 28" are all red on my screen and I can't adjust it away. I have my sensitivity down to almost zero and target separation set on zero. I have it set on six colors. I have called Marcum a couple of times and I have not been able to work it out. They told me to set my transducer so it's barely touching the water surface. They advertise 1/4" target separation but I would be happy seeing my jig within 3" of the bottom. I hope someone else has figured out this issue and can lend me a hand.I think the LX 7 is the same flasher without the camera Wondering

Its been over a week and I have left several voice mails with Marcum customer service with no reply. Very frustrated that you spend this much money and no one from customer service will return a call to lend technical assistance.

Fish Hound I do not get that kind of separation on my LX9. I think the LX 7 runs on different software. Can you share your settings? WI Trapp It would be very nice if you could share any video on your settings and results. I have been trying to contact Marvin all week but they have a voice mail recording and have not returned my calls. They did respond to my email but told me to send the unit back for service. I would rather try to work it out before I have to ship it back.

Maybe seem like a foolish question but are you using the "bottom zoom" feature to see that area of the water column or are you just using it on the standard? I use my LX-7 in 1/2 screen standard graph to see the whole water column and then 1/2 screen bottom zoom and can easily see a small Fiska jig an inch off the bottom in 35' of water.

Checked mine out and on six color display with the following jig/spoon/rap are blue with my sensitivity set at 4 and target off in 18FOW. I see three different colors with using six color display. JIG blue / hook yellow / bait blue with flashes of small red line when jigging....I will see if a video works this week on it as you can see what I see with mine. Sorry I cant help more.

The latest update boosted the sensitivity, try it on 3 color and see what you get.

Thanks for your feedback WI-Trapp Unless I'm doing it wrong.... the higher the sensitivity setting the more clutter you pick up. I'm not having trouble picking up my jig. I'm getting solid red from my jig all the wsy to bottom when my jig is 12" - 18" off the bottom. This is with my sensitivity set on zero and my target ID set on Zero. Using the six color pallet. Its almost like the unit has too much power.......

The only issue with my lx9 is the camera depth will not display , even after I sent it in for repair. Try your depth setting at auto and then bump up the sensitivity until the jig appears at 28ft.

Unfortunately I can't help you with your problem and I don't want to hijack your thread, but I'm having issues with my LX-7. It turns on, but I'm getting no depth reading. I thought it was my transducer so I purchased a new one, and did the newest update and its still not reading anything. I'm going to be sending it to Marcum for a fix as I have no idea what is going on.
