I have an opportunity to pick one of these up. Have anyone had any experience with this bow? Any opinions? I have a 31.5 draw.

Thanks for any input!!!

Here's mine set up for spots with a 28" Modular Series stab and 8" rear bars. If only there were more spot shoots between March and December.

Thanks for the good stuff guys. I'm going to go shoot a couple bows this week (including the commander). At first I was just looking to jump on a good deal but thinking about it more I plan to take my time and shoot a few. I hear you guys about speed but number one in my book is accuracy and especially constancy. Honestly... I want to be able to compete in my 3d league and feel confident when that shooter is coming down the trail at 35 yards. Plus, I want a bow that will last me another 5 years.

Look'n... your just still mad at me for shooting your buck last fall in Kansas... you'll always be the camp be'otch and you know it Wink Tounge Out

Speed should not be the only reason anyone buys a bow but why not take advantage of the luxury. Do you need to send an arrow at 350 fps second to kill a deer? Certainly not but if a bow is inherently fast you may shoot a heavier arrow at a faster speed and in some cases gain more KE but more importantly gain more momentum. More KE, Momentum, and speed will aid in marginal hits and errors in yardage estimation. Why not take advantage of it. I agree that an arrow traveling at 175 fps from a longbow has taken many deer but that is not the point. I also agree it is the archers responsibility to put the arrow in the right spot but we are all human. A super fast bow is not for everyone. If your not an experienced archer, a shorter brace height, speed bow may not be the right choice for you. Any flaws in form will be magnified. I know 3 Toes and he can handle the speed so for him I think there may be better options for him on the market. But if he shoots it and loves how it feels that is the most important consideration. Either way the bow has is certainly qualified to do the job. Just my opinion of course.

Thanks guys for the input. I'm looking forward to shooting it. Being 6'6' I like to have long ata but dont want to suffer in the speed area... will this bow be fast enough?

Can't comment on the '08, but I have an '07 Commander and Guardian. Great bows and very forgiving. I've tried some others since but nothing seems to come close to the same feel.

I just picked up a 2008 Bowtech General and I really like it! The General is very similar to the Commander just shorter ata. I got a very good buy on this bow as it is last years model, brand new with full warrantee. My other bow is a 2002 Matthews legacy that I love and the General is just as smooth and quiet. The grip on the Bowtech is not as thick as the Matthews so I have to keep a lose grip and keep the heel of my palm on the grip. It seems to me that Bowtechs are really state of the art in bow design right now. Tom

Little heavy and long for me if using it for hunting. I had a smoked chrome one for 3D, nice shooter but not real fast.
