Mystic Moose Resort

Hayward, WI
Jim and Barb purchased the resort in August of 2002. They are both from Eau Claire, WI where they have lived all of their life. Jim was Fire Inspector for the City of Eau Claire with over 30 years in the fire service. Jim retired in the summer of 2004 and is now permanently enjoying the beautiful Northwoods while doing whatever he can to help their guests relax and enjoy a memorable vacation at Mystic Moose. His wife Barb owns an embroidery business in Eau Claire but is now living at Mystic Moose. Both Jim and Barb have a love for the water and fishing.

Jim has spent several weeks each year fishing the Canadian wilderness with a good friend of his, Mike Henry of Pipestone Fly-In Outposts. Jim also has spent the 4 years fishing with the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail.

Jim and Barb are looking forward to meeting new friends at the Mystic Moose and promise to provide a very exciting and relaxing vacation for you and your family with clean and neat accommodations.

We hope that you find the scenic and secluded Mystic Moose to be a Magical place... where vacation memories are made... where new friends are found... and where time stands still.

We have 4 cabins to chose from here at the Mystic Moose, with a vacation home located only two miles away by road or 1 mile by water. Our two older cabins have been recently renovated while our other 2 have been newly constructed. The 2 newly renovated cabins have new furnaces, kitchen stoves and microwaves. All of our beds are completly made up with sheets blankets and pillows.

The Area around Mystic Moose is very quiet and peaceful. All our cabins have wonderful screen porches for relaxing. We have swings, chairs, hammocks and bonfire pit, wood is supplied. Beautiful Moose Lake is a 1600 acre, dark water flowage surrounded by the Chequamegon National Forest making it a true fisherman's paradise. Fish for trophy musky, walleye, crappie, bass and panfish. Moose Lake is a Class A Musky Lake, the Mystic Musky awaits your arrival!

Large numbers of smallmouth bass known as the acrobats of the north are very plentiful in Moose Lake. These fish await your lure so they can give you a good fight. Pound for pound they fight the hardest of any fish. You will enjoy catching these fish and watching them dance on theirs tails on top of the water.

Walleye fishing is my favorite. You will find walleyes in many areas of the lake. Keep in mind on Moose Lake there is no size limit and you can keep up to 5 walleyes a day for a delicious shore lunch.

Float or canoe down the West Fork of the Chippewa River. You will be able to take out at our own dock at the end of the trip. Shuttle and river canoe trip packages available. Please inquire about pricing.

Jim's years of fishing experience are at your disposal. He has competed on the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail and now brings his guiding skills to Moose Lake. Enjoy a day with Jim as your guide and take part in one of his delicious shore lunches! Life jackets are available.
