Shawano Lake, Shawano County

well it's been really windy hard to fish in two plus waves..fished the last two nights from 630 to dark.crappie bite is still hot fun catchin.
targeted eyes last night west side of lake we caught five between two of us leeches on slip bombers 12 to 15 fow.perch are hard to catch now??should move shallow next month.all fish are still swimming we catch and release most of our fish unless we want a fresh fish fry.
update eyes and DNR got boat numbers of three boats he said he will be on lake watching. ??
ever boat landing and road that end at lake has walleye size limit and how many on shawano lake.wft are out there early spring pulling nets in the cold not getting a dime.go by cecil camp ground end of March and see what there doing.there is a big tent set up guys in in 24/7 for weeks raising walleye fry.
fished this am caught two 20" eyes on leeches still swimming and all the crappies you want.still swimming fun catchin
tight lines have fun watch out for jet ski's they will run your lines over.??????
looking to see what the limit it is ,i see a comment about a 18 inch limit but i havent seen anything in the regs
WFT has done an incredible job on Shawano for sure, walleyes are definitely on the come back.
You know darn well schmucks are keeping undersized walleye out there, unfortunately will never get rid of all the clowns. If you see it happening call the DNR, a fat ticket, or loss of fishing privileges, and or gear would be a nice dose of reality for them, and maybe the wake up call they need.
It’s good to hear that walleyes are being caught. Maybe the efforts by Walleyes For Tomorrow are bearing some fruit. I am 68 and have been fishing shawano lake since a little boy. Back in the day, I use to pick up walleyes fishing in 8 to 14 feet weeds but I haven’t caught one in probably 20 years now but I don’t target them either. I fish bass during May, September, and October. It would be a shame if fishermen were keeping undersized fish, not giving the lake a fair chance of revitalizing the walleye population.
been out pretty much every day this summer last week crappie fishing has been great using green tails fishing drops with weeds.perch are spotty was catching them up to 13 inches
walleye fishing has been good but. a lot of 17 3/4 fish so back they. went.18 inches is size limit.i heard and see guys keeping 14 inchers???this could be a great eye lake if rules were inforced.sad guys are doing this.
leeches for eyes works great.
tight lines have fun be safe
