The southeast corner which is Thunder bay you can catch all species there the other side from the resort at the entrance seems to produce better at times get some large leeches at the baitshop on E also as you move west right outside the first house on that shore you can catch smallmouth, northern, crappie and musky

Fished 7/30.

Fished west side 6-9 ft for pan fish. Lots of small gills sorted enough for a meal.

slip bobber or drop shot worked well

Kids should enjoy the non stop action

Coming up for a week starting Sunday for the first time on the lake with the family. We are staying in the southeaster corner of the lake and wanted to know if anyone is able to guide us in the right direction as fishing time will be limited with three little ones along.

If there are any guides available for a half day Monday or Tuesday, please message me as I may be interested to save time later in the week.

Lastly I heard restaurants were very busy this summer and due to that and shortage of workers the wait times have been very long. Any recommendations within half hour or so?

Thanks in advance for any information, happy to return the favor and share information on southern WI lakes/lake Michigan harbor if need be. Happy fishing everyone!

We were up on LVD Wed-Sat.  Our group had good success 6AM to noon drifting jigs under slip-bobbers with half a nightcrawler or small twister tails. Perch, crappie and bluegills.  Casting small Mepps produced the usual snake northerns up to 24in and one small muskie. Although we did not target walleye one boat did land a fat 26incher. Water temps on Wed and Thur were up to 78.  Cooled down a bit after the rains went thru later in the week. Timing was just right for constant action on panfish.

fished five days on this lake recently.  It was extremely warm air temps which caused the water temps to sky rocket. First day the surface temp was 63.4, last was 76.2. With the warm days, we tried to fish the evenings only.  Bluegills were in the shallows on their beds....biting anything we threw at them (wax worms, crawlers, leeches). Black Crappie were active. We caught most on leeches, but some on crawlers and wax worms in 5-7 FOW. Took a few hours of casting and caught four small muskies with the biggest measuring just over 19 inches. We did catch a couple of bass with the largest being 17 inches. The bass came on leeches just before dusk.

How is the ice situation up on Misery Bay?

I’ll be heading up there this weekend and wondering if there is any open water in case I decide to do some shore fishing for panfish.

Coming up next week. Wondering if we’ll be alright with our auger or if we’re going to need an extension? Anyone have an idea of the ice thickness? Thanks in advance!

It’s NEVER too cold for slush. The snow is one of the best insulators there is. While the ice is still freezing it will hardly make ice with a good snow cover. If you don’t understand this concept it’s best to not be out on the ice in -20 temps getting stuck. There’s a real possibility for hypothermia and frost bite in these conditions. Just my two cents take it for what it’s worth and basically do whatever you want like everyone does. Lol

Buddy is a guide in the area, said he had -33 degrees tuesday morning, said it didnt help the slush conditions at all, said a foot of snow with 6 inches of slush underneath, also got another buddy that went up to the U.P chasing trout yesterday, buried his truck 40 feet from the landing, so its pretty bad out there, use caution.
