Hello everyone I've been fishing LVD for the last 6 weeks on and off I'm wondering why no one has made any reports on how the fishing has been. I've been looking for muskie and have had no luck. In the past I would frequently see them but not anymore.

We were up from the 6-5 to 6-9. Mostly sunny with 80 degree weather most days...still cool at night. We targeted panfish, as my fishing partners need to bring in a fish every 5 minutes or they want to move. Crappies were just finishing their spawn and bluegills were starting to bed up. Stayed shallow (3-8 FOW) and caught plenty of both, along with some perch and largemouth. We did luck into one small musky. The gills were a smallish 6-7 inches, but fun to catch....one after another. Crappies raged from small 5 inchers to 9 inches. Kept enough of both for a couple of fish fries. We fished with leeches, wax worms and portions of nightcrawlers. We launched out of the national park campground, which is usable right now (with the water being so high), although there is no dock and it is shallow (1-2 FOW)out a block or so....so be careful with powering up your motors. Lastly, bring bug spray....mosquitos were awful thick, especially by the launch.
