Fished 4 hours. Used about every lure in my tackle box. Shallow, deep, middle, and shore. Not a bite. Water was still really cold. It was super early in the AM and cloudy. Nothing good.

Fished Sag Quarries West this morning on wax worms. Very slow. Got 2 4" bluegills. Ice was 8" with a 2 to 3" snow cover.

Hey guys, I was out there 1-6-18 and 1-14-18, both in the morning.
1-6 came in from east end of the great lakes quarry, had 7+ inches of ice all the way out to the island. Caught about a dozen small bluegill on waxies out there then, they weren't liking any action, just a dead stick an inch off bottom.
1-14 after the thaw and refreeze the ice was just plain spooky. Definitely wasn't going anywhere without cleats. Didn't go out to the middle of icebox, the ice was 4" at best by the shore and I'm not a bare minimum kinda guy with ice. The other quarry on that side of the canal had 6 inches by shore, 7 about 20 yards out and 8 about 50 or 60 yards out. I did find a thin spot at 5 inches a little beyond that 8 which was weird. Caught half dozen bluegill on that quarry jigging about 3' to 4' off bottom in 10FOW.
Also tried to hit the Krueger quarry that day but was seeing between 5 and 6 inches 20 yards off the dock. I had a pretty big guy with me, so we didn't stay there to fish. Southeast end of consumers quarry, in the shade, had 10 inches in spots, 8 or 9 in others
I've been trying to figure these quarries out, but haven't had time to hit them any more than a dozen times in the last two years when I started fishing them.
I was at 3 and 10’
I fished Sag Quarries East on 1/7/18 and caught about 30 gills. Also fished on 1/9/18 and caught about 75 gills in about 90 minutes. I plan on going tomorrow or Thursday.
Hi wolfman911,what depths are you fishing today?
Has anyone been ice fishing at the quarries ?
If so, how’d it go? How thick was the ice ?
