I see them advertised for $299. I'm thinking I may buy one if it fits me. Does anyone have any feed back on them? Does anyone know where they are made. I see Maryland on the receiver but thats got to be the importer.

Thanks

I have had one for three years and I have used in in limited roles. Never failed and I like using it. I really like using it for grouse as it is a nice swinging and light gun to lug around around all day.

I own a condor i shoot on average 200 rounds weekly and I never had a problem with it I'm thinking about buying another one a condor competition combo they sell for about $700 but you get a 20 and a 12 gauge with adjustable comb single selective triggers and ejectors you can't beat that for the price So if just don't think about buying it buy it you won't regret it. I know they do have rear sights on them and I'm sure you could replace them. As far as the Hi-vis sights, just get a magnetic one, that way you can take it off if need be. My dad has one that he takes off in certain weather conditions.

Yes, you can shoot steel out of a Condor. I use steel for all my hunting, haven't had a problem. Just so you know Lead, Daane is an authorized Stoeger dealer. I would stop in there and talk to Peter, make sure it's Peter, he'll be able to help you out and give you the best deal around here on a gun, if that's what you're interested in.

are the condors steel acceptable?? and can you change the front bead to a fiber-optic rod instead?? on the supreme is there a mid-bead, if so is it removable??

I've got the 20 ga. with 26 inch barrels for rabbit huntin, just the basic model, I love it (for rabbit hunting and woodcock) other than that my dad and brother both have one, brother with the supreme and he has had troubles with his firing pin, sent the whole gun back they gave him a whole new gun, my dad's got the one with the nickel reciever and has never let him down, and a buddy had the supreme which also has had firing pin problems, finally got tired of it not working right so he ditched it

I dunno, I wish my Baikal had rxtractors that just raised the fired shell rather than popping them out...easy enough to put my hand there to stop them from flying, but...my roomate has the condor and I like the feel of it. I like my Baikal and its worth a lot more than the 300 I paid for it...I've seen some good deals used as well on all kinds of brands...

The Condor Supreme has the selective trigger and ejectors. The base models have single set triggers and extractors. I wouldn't buy a double gun without ejectors or a selective trigger.

i believe the competition model has the selective barrels? plus it has the changeable recoil pad and comb. not bad for a $500 dollar o/u. also it has a shiny stock and better wood

Non selective! I wouldn't even want it then. You guys are making me even more wishy-washy than I already am. After the 1st 2 posts I was talked out of it, then the next couple got me thinking to check one out again, and now the no selective non-feature has me back out again. Whats next? Thanks for the replies.

You said that you liked the thought of having two chokes in case a turkey came in close. When you do by an O/U, be sure you can choose which barrel shoots first. Condors don't have that option, it's the bottom barrel first.

If you're thinking about the Mossberg Silver Reserve or the Stoeger Condor, I would steer towards the Condor. The Condor locks up tighter than the SR and points better IMO. The Mossberg is also heavier. I wouldn't want to lug around an 8lb. field gun all day. Since new o/u's and SxS's are generally expensive for average quality guns, have you considered buying one used from the gunbroker or gunsamerica listings? Unless someone used it for sporting clays, there should be almost no wear. One of the best o/u I ever shouldered/fired was a Franchi Alcione. Brand new they were around $1000. They are no longer made, but can be picked up for $500~$800 used. These were on par with Berettas.

They are one of the best values in over/unders, by far. You might also want to check out the O/U being marketed by Mossberg. Italian gun, fit and finish on the one or two I've looked at was quite good, and they're around 500 bucks...
