I took the morning off, figured I watch blue skies and enjoy the weather. Obviously. Because ain't no ducks around. Wasn't a half hour and they came out of no where. And a lot of them? Even some geese? Weird.

I drove around a BIG lake in east central part of the state on Saturday and was very surprised how few ducks I saw.  Worse still, most of what I did see were sawbills...  Probably try one more time over the weekend, but I'm not expecting much.

I would appreciate any information about the geese around Horicon.

Please send me a msg or text at 715-498-5474.

I'm having surgery on Dec. 15th and would like to make one more goose hunting trip before going under the knife.

Thanks

After taking my first skunk of the year Sunday I was wondering. Little more scouting and Plenty of birds out there yet! Was down to a tshirt when I left.  Went today before work with a buddy. Not many geese seen today at all

Dodger, I'd wait a couple weeks and try it again, If geese are what you're lookin for. I'm watching 50 geese dump in to a county park, on top of a couple hundred pulling grass right now. We need weather. And more fresh birds. Just came back from the U.P. yesterday, still a $#!t ton of birds up there. Good luck. I'll start scouting again tonight.?

I have been to Goose Haven in Mayville twice this year. I have to say I believe Monica did her best to set me up in good blinds but the birds just didn't fly anywhere close to where I was. I sat both times in a blind with decoys around me in a picked cornfield.

I would like to get a couple for a mount. Is it worth my time or should I just wait until next year for a chance around here in Central Wisconsin ?

Thanks

Had a really good hunt yesterday! Today I hit a creek again I guess you never know what to expect duck hunting! Both woodies were definitely fresh birds. I thought they were locals that stuck around late like they do in a couple of spots near me. Went to clean them and they were skin tight with zero fat.

Got out for a quick hunt in my favorite creek! It's a special spot! More birds using it than I thought. Ended up with 2 green heads. After hunting over the years I should know by now not to look back at my spot haha. Watching 4 dump right in where I was set up. Happy Thankagiving to all!
