Cougar sighting on home surveillance camera near Milwaukee. I wonder if the DNR is going to say it was a pet that escaped.

35 or 80 pounds , still more than I would want to go after bare handed  .

OK, well then I would have at least asked for it's fangs and claws. And maybe it's tail.

A period of time had passed from the attack until the animal was found, and during that time they said other cougars had fed off of it. They also said a necropsy was difficult because so much of the animal had been consumed.. so there are estimates all over the map.. including the 35lb’s which is also an estimate.

When wildlife officials found the mountain lion on the trail after the attack, it had already been "scavenged" on by other animals, likely other felines. Officials estimated the animal was 35-40 pounds and likely a male.

I like how the original articles said the mountain lion was 80lbs, but now they say it was only 35lbs.  That's a huge difference.

If I were that guy, I would be trying to get the carcass so I could have a full body mount done. Killing an attacking apex predator with your bare hands, no matter what the size, is pretty friggin' awesome!

and the bad ass toddler mountain lion was about 4 months old and weighed 35 pounds when alive, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife. There were multiple causes of death, including blunt trauma and strangulation.

Probably not. This one was estimated at 200. No clue who she is, hails from Seattle. Lowball gov't pop. estimate is 5000 animals. Long season but no hound hunting.

Dave- True. I don't go into the woods without a sidearm. Two confirmed lion kills in the last 2 mo. just over a mile from me. Same spot 10 days apart. Talked to a gentleman who saw it and waited for it the next night. No luck. I took some pics of the 2nd kill, some lion(?) scat and what I think are tracks squared off with an 8' chain link about 8' from it. It had rained the night before. I have a tag but not legal to hunt where I was.

Your link is the story I read.
