2018 updates from the field

Wanted to start the 2018 updates from the field.  Sometimes helps to know what is going on with patterns and movement.  Sometimes is just the little more motivation to sit an additional hour.  Look forward to adding to here Saturday morning for the opener.

1 doe and 2 fawns feeding on turnip plot.  That's it so far.

Just saw a big, wide, heavy-racked mature buck on the move right by my house. I am not hunting, just cruising around looking at deer. Beautiful morning. 

Saw almost 50 deer yesterday.  Nothing this morning. 

They are moving good this morning, just saw my second buck out searching.

Dead this morning. 

Got settled in by1:30 gorgeous afternoon here on public in Washington county.  Hope was high until some bozo sets up an hour later a little ways from me and starts blowing a grunt call every 15 minutes like it’s a trumpet.  What a goof

Had a small buck trot past grunting around 0730. He may have been chasing I doe I didn't see. Juneau County

Cold and windy, nothing yet this morning in Waushara County.

Finally just saw my first chasing a eight pointer hot on a doe crashing thru the woods! Good morning to be out, glad the winds died down a bit. Dane County , public land.

Up for probably last sit of the year.  Have acl and miniscus surgery next week.  Keep the stories coming

Was cleaning my truck out in the garage this am. Dog was going crazy in his dog run. Opened the door to have a decent 8 pointer standing 10 yards from me.  He looked lost. Didn't care I was there not the German Shepard barking and growling at him. 

Did not go out yesterday so instead of driving home decided to go out hunting until 9am.  Saw one big buck right next to my stand at 5am, one decent buck walked past at about 5:50am, one nubby fawn. Marquette. 

Hunted Jackson county on Saturday and saw a lot of deer but got nothing.  My cousin did however get lucky and at  6pm connected with a real nice 9 pointer with 17 1/2 inch spread and 10 inch g2's. Probably a high 130's buck
