Wanted to start the 2018 updates from the field.  Sometimes helps to know what is going on with patterns and movement.  Sometimes is just the little more motivation to sit an additional hour.  Look forward to adding to here Saturday morning for the opener.

Steady rain and windy this morning. Seen a few does early.  Yesterday evening had a big mature 12pt come by at about 75 yards at 5:50pm. He was standing about 20 yards from my rifle stand.  As he was walking away I grunted a few times but it didn't phase him

Dead calm,  drizzle and no deer seen.  Marquette county.   Bunch of fresh rubs on my way to the stand and some mature bucks on cam moving during daylight either really early or really late.  Still optimistic but would like to see something.

Got busted at 8:30 by a big 8 pt.  Only nice one I’ve had on camera all fall.  So, another year, another blown opportunity.  My 10 acres is officially turded up.  I honestly have no clue how he picked me off, but it doesn’t matter.

Calm with a steady drizzle in Juneau County. Just had an old doe slowly circle through working her nose hard.

On stand, Jefferson Co.  Farmer is picking the field one 40 to the East.  The deer should be used to it, but it never gives me confidence.

Squirrels are in full on seak mode.  Just had a booner fox squirrel go by nose to the ground.

On my way to work this morning on the moped. I live in a wooded subdivision and had 2 bucks about 10 seconds behind a doe miss running me over by about 5 feet. Could hear them breathing as they ran by. Will be out after work. Could be a great weekend. Good luck all.
