Spent Sept. 1st through the 7th at Manotak Lodge on Perrault Lake. Manotak is an excellent lodge, well equipped with a great staff. I highly recommend it.
Fishing was good -- not great. The weather covered just about everything it could throw at us from rain and wind to sunny, warm and calm. We sort of focused on northerns just because they're so much fun. No real trophies but lots of slot fish in the 27" to 35" range. We also got quite a few smallies and limited out on 14" to 16" eyes, but we didn't get of lot of them.
The next trip I'll go to Manotak and Perrault Lake again.

Just got back from a week at Rocky Shores and had a great time. The fishing was tougher since the weather was forever changing but we managed some very nice walleyes and some great stories. Slick was pulling in a walleye when a big northern hit it and released the walleye at the boat; the walleye was 16" and they thought the northern was 6" between the eyes so it was a big fish. Met Bluejay Bert and his fishing buddy Greybeard; nice people.
Chris, Mike and Charlie of Rocky Shores make our trip and we appreciate everything they do for us and we look forward to seeing them again in a year. If you're looking for a lodge, check them out.
A big thanks to Rick, Slick and Greyghost for putting up with me for another week.

Thanks Frabill
I know where 1st Bay is and we will give it a try. Thanks for the info. We're on the American Plan too but we might give WhiskeyJacks a try.
I was watching the Manotak dock cam the other night and they brought in a 33" walleye. It was photographed and released at the dock. That would be fun!

Anyone fishing in the Perrault lake area you need to check out WhiskyJacks restaurant for some awesome food we ate there 3 time the week we were up there and we also had the american plan at the resort, but we ate at the restaurant as well beer is even better, but the best thing is the Fries fresh cut the best.
port,
we went to manotak just got back 2 weeks ago we found that 1st bay was a great spot for monster perch and a great spot for walleye, for walleye we found them int the middle of the bay where you will see 2 islands if you line yourself up with the island and a rock formation on the other side you will be in 22 to 25 feet of water and it is right in the middle of it, we caught a ton of walleye there if you went into the bay you went to far. i hope this helps and good luck.

I just returned from our annual trip to Perrault Lake. as others have posted fishing was slow.. caught plenty of fish in the 13" to 15" range (eaters) and only a handful of 18" to 25.5"..
the "wall" is on the east side of the lake, just south of grassy bay. I have heard it called other names such as "orange rock". great night spot. here is a picture of a 30" 12.24lb walleye I caught on the last night of last years trip.. (not at the wall)
Just returned from our fishing vacation. We had a wonderful time even though the fishing was very slow for Canada. The weather was hot, dry and calm which equalled a tough bite. The water levels seem to be normal or just a hair below. Still could ease into Spadina so not too low. Can't beat the scenery and the quiet no matter how the fishing is. No big fish to speak of.Plenty to eat though. Good luck all and enjoy.
