Was in Marinette this afternoon to pick up a prescription, swung by the river to have a look. A few people offshore, but there must of been 30 guys on the bridge. almost all favoring the Wisconsin side because current in the middle was really rippen with the gates open. Social Distancing was definitely not in effect. Didn't see anything caught while I was there.
Fished on Stephan's island today for Brown trout, saw several caught but didn't have any luck personally. Don't think the walleyes are in yet.
Walleye’s running yet? Was up at my cabin last weekend and tried it here but nothing yet. Any info greatly appreciated as it is a two hour drive to my cabin.
I drove past the Bridge today. There was one small hole opened up in the ice and even though there was a steady drizzle, there was a guy on the bridge fishin the hole.
not great resolution, but this will give some idea of what things look like from the train bridge/Stephenson Island area
So anyone have any ice on water pictures or of what it looks like out there?
66° - 70° F
76° - 80° F
caught the same snapper turtle 3 times!! didnt land him just hooked him was the size of about 2 basketballs diameter...then later i caught a 17 inch 2.5 lb smallie
Heading up from southern WI tomorrow to canoe for smallies. Looking at the USGS site it seems the water is pretty high. Anyone been there to give me an update on if the river is fishable/safe? We will be putting in by the dam down from Niagra.
Thanks for the help!
Glad you at least landed the fish haha. And thanks for the info I'll give it a try either Monday or Tuesday.
