NOTE: This list may not be all inclusive of all speices present in Lake Geode.
Lake Geode was renovated in the early 80's to remove a problem gizzard shad population. Since then Lake Geode has developed into one of the premier bluegill lakes in the state producing good catches of 8- to 10-inch bluegills every year. Crappies are a good size with many 10- to 12-inch fish, but not in high numbers. There is a very high population of largemouth bass in the lake with surveys showing up to 140 bass per hour of electrofishing. A majority of these bass are under the 15 inch length limit which is not uncommon in lakes with a high panfish harvest. Redear sunfish are another sought after species in Geode with fish over 10 inches caught on a regular basis.(2007)
