Illinois River : Spring Valley up to Starved Rock Dam

hey woodridge, I've been doing pretty well on saugers downriver but haven't run into any white bass.
look for them policing shad off island points and creek sandbars.
the seagulls will sometimes give you a hint as to where they're at by swarming and dive bombing 

@walleyemaster101 i am heading there tomorrow with my 12 year old son and his friend and would like to put them on some white bass, any help locating them would be appreciated.  Ive been fishing there for years but never seem to find them in great numbers, catch a few here and there but looks like you snagged a few.

Not as good as it used to be that’s for sure .. usually right about when the sauger are spawned out u can get em by vermillion river .

   Is the spring white bass run still pretty decent around the starved rock area? Haven’t fished it since I was a kid and hoping the Asian carp haven’t ruined it. 

The bite is on!!
