Shot a nice one yesterday. Didn't go out until about 8:30 because I had all week to hunt. Set up where there was a lot of sign called off and on for about 30 minutes then 2 gobbled and came right in took a while in the thick cover to get a shot. Was home by 10:15 season over. 1.125 spurs 10 1/2 " beard.

Saw a Tom full strut with a lone hen at 9am today.  200 yards from where I will set up tomorrow with my bow.

Was pleasantly surprised at the gobbling last night given the high winds and very cold weather.. I let out an owl hoot and 6-7 Toms were gobbling in a creek bottom about 100 yards onto the neighboring property. Hopefully I can entice one these next few mornings. Getting excited!

Roosted 2 birds last night at the land just for fun.. heard a group of 6 gobblers this morning about 1/2 mile from our property before i headed to work. They were fired up this morning big time. One week!

Got my shotgun dialed in today. I have a scope and for the first time, I had to make some adjustments. Always use same load. All ready now for 3rd season.

Looked over to the field to the west last night at 6:45pm on US41 south in Winnebago County. Just west of the landfill. Saw the biggest tom I have ever seen. He was not strutting or puffed up, but was following 4 hens out onto the field. Definitely interested in them from what I could see. This thing was huge! Looked bigger than 26 lb tom I shot last year, it almost seemed fake until it moved. Sorry for lack of pic...
