Edible

Are the trout and salmon still edible? Or are they too mushy? If they are mushy can you still eat them? Thanks Drake

I second that.... trout are always good... I dont keep salmon once they enter the river to spawn.... I do keep them in the harbors and great lakes

Trout are edible all year around. Salmon, depends on the species. If you catch a King Salmon when they are still being lip hooked on lures, show no signs of damage, and the body is firm it is edible.

If you hook a King and it comes in like a log (no fight), has sores and open wounds all over the place, and looks like mush no.. don't eat it. It's been zombified and will not taste good at all.
