We are having our annual huge extended family vacation on June 9th -16th and we are staying on yellow. I have not fished yellow since I was a kid some 25 years ago.

Any tips on muskies on this lake this time of year? Looking at maps it seems to be pretty straight forward.......a big bowl with weedlines all around. Pretty much fish the deep weed edges. But any colors seem to work better than others? Types of lures? Being a family thing, I won't get tons of time to musky fish with small kids around, so any suggestions will be appreciated.

Will also be fishing bass and maybe a walleye or 2 if I get the chance.

Thanks in advance.

well, the weather certainly made things difficult. with my small boat, fishing yellow during the 25-40 mph winds we had all last week was dang near impossible. But i did get out once or twice. Spent most of my time fishing smaller lakes in the area for bass. we did pretty good on bass. caught some panfish on small area lakes too. as for yellow.....caught a 32" app 8-9lbs muskie over by jeffries landing i believe. With the wind conditions, that was the only place i could fish decently! getting across the lake from ike walton was fun.......almost sunk my boat once when stupidly trying to cross in he 35mph winds!! well, i didn't almost sink it......but would probably have if i kept going. turned around and went to the bar instead! Hahaha!

anyways, i did catch that 32" on a musky marabou. also had a bigger fish hit my pacemaker close to the boat, came back on figure 8, but never hit. Did probably 20 or more 8's but he never hit. last day went out and had 3 fish hit a bulldawg. never hooked any of them. I found that wierd.......a boil and a miss is one thing, but i felt weight when i set the hook.....how do you do that and not get a hook in them? my uncle also caught a 21" walleye on a smaller bucktail one evening. a couple of bass too that must have been really hungry to hit my muskie baits. other than that............not much to report! at least i didn't get skunked!

Have not fished it for a few years but have seen quite a few muskies in this lake. Early in June my favorite spot is Little Yellow where the Yellow river comes in. Fish this bay & shoeline and also up the river a bit. I like spinnerbaits in the weeds and if the muskies arn't hitting the bass & northerns keep you from getting bored.
