2012 Two Rivers-Manitowoc Trap Nets
5/17/12 @ 7:44 AM
The commercial trap nets have been back in the lake since April. Please refresh your knowledge of the markings and how to avoid them. Keep wire cutters close at hand to cut lines and down rigger cables if your gear becomes entangled in the net or one of the many anchor lines.
Find information about the nets, net maps, buoy locations and depths at the WI Sea Grant site:

I'll provide updates as I receive new numbers.

Here is an updated map for the Two Rivers - Manitowoc nets.
A map with coordinates is available at the Sea Grant website:

Also, in discussions with some of you I realize there is some confusion about who is operating the nets. They are not Sea Grant nets. The nets are used by commercial fishermen from Two Rivers and Sheboygan. Sea Grant provides the coordinates as I can to help anglers avoid them
I've been unable to obtain the Sheboygan net coordinates.

I've been inquiring, but have been unable to get the Sheboygan net locations. If anyone has them or can get them, please send them to me and I'll plot them out and post them.

A couple of the LeClair nets were pulled out this week, the ones I labeled LC01 and LC02. Another, LC04 was moved to the North.
I've attached a new map. The buoy coordiantes and depths along with the map and pot coordinates are available at the WI Sea Grant website. The nets won't move againuntil after the holiday weekend.
