Never done this before. I would like to use a jig with a twister on the dropper and a rapala as the crankbait. What size jig should I use and how fast should I troll? How far back from the boat? Should I be near bottom or up in the water column? Your comments will be appreciated by this old dog trying to learn new tricks.

Even the smallest floating Rapala has some drag to it. You might try tying a one ounce or bigger jig to 12# super line then attaching a looped mono leader with just a snap to your lure. The "Bear Claw" Brand plastic leader connector would work better than a 3-way swivel. I've never found the 3-way swivel thingys to swivel worth a hoot.

You should use the Precision Trolling book, it has dive curves for dropper weights & they should be in the same ballpark as an equally weighted jig.
