OK guys, less than three weeks of waiting left. Don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am itchin' to go somethin' fierce. Still need to reorganize the vest and try test casting my new leader system to see if it works, or if I was just cracked in the head when I conceived the idea. Wondering how everybody else's preparations are coming. Cheers!

Checked out a few Waushara county streams over the weekend. Water was gin clear everywhere I looked. Looks like two chances of rain/snow before Saturday...lets hope for snow! 36 degrees and partly cloudy for Saturday...can't wait!!

Looks like we could have some snow on the ground for the opener!

Gas going over 4 bucks a gallon has me depressed for my upcoming season. Guess I will be fishing for bluegills in the pond down the street, or carp.

Goh- I use a smaller version, but paint a bead head to replace the egg. To be honest, that one usually stays in the box...I have more success on the larger leech. Since we are on the topic.... anybody use Mercer's psycho leech? I've never gone that big, but it looks like a fun one to experiment with.

Have any of you guys out there ever tried small egg sucking leech patterns for inland trout? If so, was it worth the effort to tie smaller versions or not really? Thanks in advance!

Im getting pretty pumped. Looking forward for this year. early season is my favorite time to be out. I mostly fish waushara, waupaca , and marinette county. theres a lot of trout out there just have to go find them. Good luck to all.

I'm all giddy. Tied more muddler minnows, leeches, and assorted beadhead nymphs than I will ever be able to use. Looking forward to less runoff and clear water this year.

Just tying the basics--prince and hare's ears, scuds, etc. I'm getting pretty antsy for sure. Need to be on the stream...
