I would check out Colton fly rods at Coltonfly.com. For the next couple days their holiday sales are in effect. My father in law in CT. just picked up a 10wt for Christmas in order to chase Stripers and bluefish in the saltwater. When it arrived we went out and threw some bigger and smaller flies for winter holdover stripers on the Housatonic river. While playing around with this new stick I told him that if I ever get serious about flyfishing for pike/muskies I'd get one of those 10 wts. Fairly stiff and made throwing bigger flies into wind pretty easy. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.
St. Croix rods lists their 10 weights for muskies. That being said, I've gone as light as 8 weight and done ok. The important thing to remember is that you're most likely going to be chucking an awfully heavy and cumbersome fly at some point which the heavier fly rods do better at. If you go with an 8 weight, you will be limited to flies that the rod can handle; if you went with the 10 weight, you would most likely be able to throw just about any fly you wanted. Something to consider. Hope this helps.
