I am looking for a product on the market that inserts into your side rod locker that will hold multiple rods. I do not have the tools or the skills necessary to build one. Would like it to be something that will last and protect the rods at the same time have a nice finish to it. Thanks for the info.

What I did in my side rod box was to purchase a simple rod organizer, a 4 rod model. The same one that would be used in a garage with the foam in the slots. Berkley makes one, among others. I mounted it horizontally (overall; the individual bracket is mounted vertically) on the the side-wall of the box. I can now hang 4 rods on the side and place an additional 3 on the floor of the box. My biggest concern is with the spinning reels. Previously I had a bail get bent either from bouncing on the floor or on another rod/reel.

I also use Stick Jackets and haven't had any issues. It is nice not having to wrap the line around the rod or having to worry about them getting tangled together.

I personally use these: http://www.stickjacket.com/Web/Home.php They work great! I have 7' poles and they cover almost to the point where the lures attach to the rods. They are easy to put on and take off, and come in both casting and spinning. I have and use both, they work great.

Don't waste your time buying the "Slix" rod cover. I bought one from Gander the other day and it wasn't even close to big enough to fit over the biggest guide. They make a model for spinning and one for casting. Mine was a spinning cover for a spinning rod. The label says "medium guides" but its still way too small and they don't carry large.

Another vote for using rod socks, I actually removed the tube organizers from my boat, I felt they were taking up to much space and actually doing more damage than protecting.

I like rod socks. The rod tubs are just to hard to use and take up allot of room. Allot of guys that have boats with rod tubes take them out and use rod socks.http://www.walleyecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194599
