Tick Season

I'm headed to the cabin this weekend, are the ticks out yet? There was still snow on the ground the last time I was there.

I was in the Kettle Moraine Area by Eagle this past weekend and pulled 2 ticks off my puppy, then I found another one two days later all fat from sucking on the pup. I pulled it off without busting the body, but the head was still in the skin. I have been keeping an eye on it and sterilizing the bite. The bite seems to have pop like a pimple. Should I be concerned or will it heal in time? I'm also hoping the tick has no bacteria.

was in Shawano County last weekend and guy I was with pulled a deer tick off himself. still had snow on the ground.

In western Wisconsin I haven't had any yet, but I'm sure it's not far off.

I think its going to be a "good" year for ticks. Turkey season will be fun....

if its above freezing, ticks will be out.

Took the dog out for a little run yesterday in the nice weather. Got home and found 2 ticks on the pup. Quite suprised as this is very early! Weird winter. Loew Lake area--Richfield

In SE WI I have been pulling wood ticks off me like crazy lately, even on short walks in the woods and marsh. Dog had a few passengers, too. The tick treatment went on the dog just last week.

Back in March I had a found a few deer ticks while maple syruping up in Shawano county. I'm sure they will be active this week while I'm up there turkey hunting.
