40 mph to 35mph..... why?

This is the new law at Big Cedar lake this year. Five mph less in boat speed. Will 5mph make a difference either way? Sounds like a knee jerk reaction by someone who doesn't know any better. Oh well.

Oh jeez, sorry about that. I thought it was 40mph last summer. Maybe I didn't read the sign all the way through. I could have sworn it wasn't 35 last year. Probably just too eager to get on the lake and fish.

Chemist, When I lived in Wisconsin I recall the speed limit of 35 mph being put into effect in the late 90's or early 2000. I use to fish Big Cedar quite a bit. It was a result of personal watercraft, and the desire to balance competing uses and safety, it was at the request of property owners if I recall.

Big Cedar has been 35 mph for years. And yes, the patrol boats do have radar and enforce the speed selectively.
