Three of us went out fishing out of kayaks today for 4 hours or so. We caught fish but nothing big and certainly not fast and furious. Most fish caught on live bait including using leeches, crawlers and red worms. All worked. We got bluegills, perch and largemouth bass. Kept a few but nothing to speak of. One bass was around 15". The big gillies were full of eggs and we released them. Perch and gillies we kept were very marginal but deep hooked. Nice day out there. Quite a few folks out there swimming :-)

Got out yesterday jigging for panfish with minnows and waxworms  and got a few nice perch and a gill in 12 feet of water. Ice was pretty solid.

Anyone out there today?  If so, what were the ice conditions?

Fished Thursday mid day for about 3 hours with my buddy Nate. We got about 20 gillies between the two of us. Tried ice fishing jigs with wax worms, chunks of red worms, full red worms, pieces of leech and whole leeches. Whole leeches did the best but they also attracted big gills that had not yet spawned which we really did not want to keep. Let go a few fat 9" gills that were full of eggs. Kept a total of 8 gills between 7 and 8 1/2". Some were spawned out with little if any eggs. Those 9" gills were sure fun to catch. Always beautiful at Cox Hollow.

Cloudy
Weed Beds
Got out early and fished the heavy weeds along the dam from the shore. Landed 7 large mouths in about 4 hours. Nothing too large. Water visibility was high. (soft plastics on a weedless rig)
