FISHING FORECAST
Silver Lake suffered a winter-kill during the winter of 2013-2014 that affected largemouth bass, bluegill and crappie. After the kill event the fishery was reduced to a few crappie and northern pike. During 2014, the lake was stocked with adult bluegill, fingerling largemouth bass and fingerling northern pike. As of fall 2015, surveys showed excellent reproduction of bluegill and crappie. Angler reports and population surveys also suggest good numbers of small (8- t0 12-inch) largemouth bass as well as northern pike from 14- to 28-inches. Starting summer 2016, anglers can expect good catches of bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass and pike with few "keeper-sized" fish available for the creel.(2015)
