Time to talk BREWERS!!!!

Yeah I know baseball is ruined and ther Brewerw are almost as severly hampered by Princess Prieb as they are the lack of revenue sharing, but Im still excited. I am probably crazy but I think the Crew should be .500 this year and if Sheets, Wright, Quevedo, and Nuegebaur pitch up to their potential and we dont swing at everything, I think the crew can win 90 and be in the wild card race late, which is something we havent seen in a long, long time. They must finish over .500 to avoid 10 years straight of losing seasons. I think it is time for a coup to remove Princess Prieb.

Carp- Maybe it is me, but doesn't it seem like Sal is over-swinging this year? Seems to lose his helmet quite a bit with a harder swing and has more of an uppercut ( swinging for the fences). Seems to be getting away from just making good contact, but I know we have hitting coaches who know a heck a lot more than me
W6- Not sure I agree about Mitchell being a better OF. I am a fan of Mitchell but Sal already has 1-Gold Glove to his name and was a finalist last year. One of the things that is not discussed is his great arm. Not too many guys try to run on him. He is a top-5 outfielder in runs saved the last two years.
More and more MLB teams are signing top prospects to these long term deals and I don't recall a single one being traded in year 1 or 2 of these deals. MLB only awards one Gold Glove across all the different minor league levels and Pratt and Lara both won in two of the best position groups (SS and CF) in the minors. They both can run/steal bases, so they already possess 2 of the 3 traits the Crew covets and that can also be more easily replicated in MLB. Remember we will be losing Turang in 2-3 years so Pratt could be a future 2B. Made also could be a 3B down the line with his arm and bat. Will see what happens.

My favorite player on the Crew is Frelick. Intense, fast, hustles. His cuts at bat would scare any pitcher even though he’s been in a slump all season. Lara is as good as gone, that’s why they extended him, easier to trade and he doesn’t fit anywhere on the team. Not sure about where Pratt would fit in.
Glad to get out of Vegas. Oh well, we went 4-2 on that short road trip and got thru that tough 13 games in a row stretch at 8-5. Best news from last night was Sproat's performance. 6 innings and 1-run.
Carp- Not sure where Lara will end up but Sal's worked out pretty well defensively in the OF, and he is listed at a "very generous" 5"-9". I know Lara's name has been thrown out there as possible trade bait before the extension, but I just don't see the Crew moving him or Pratt after these deals. Will see.

"Outfield prospect Luis Lara and the Milwaukee Brewers are in agreement on a seven-year, $31 million contract extension that includes three club options, sources tell ESPN. Lara, 21, has dominated Triple-A this season. Deal maxes out at $79 million," Passan wrote.Lara has played in 56 games so far this season and is slashing .338/.447/.500 with a .947 OPS, seven homers, 27 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, eight doubles, two triples and 49 runs scored.
Crew locked up another one of their young prospects, Luis Lara.#5 rated player in their system. CF who already has MLB ready defensive skills. Only 5'7" but has great speed and has shown more power this year with 7 HR's at Triple-A.
