Had a little year and a half come in at 7am ish... Downwind and crossed walk in path and kept going... Cool to experience ground hunting in a marsh/crp area... Later went to check a cam close in area and got within 40 of a small doe with the sun at my back... Good check I'll be trying to hunt that area after working this weekend 2 nice bucks around there just no daylight pics will have to gameplan to move in close to suspected bedding provided they aren't in the corn there... All public land se wi..  tight(bow)strings and good luck everyone this season. I'm pumped!

The haters win.  I’ll stay out of this thread.  I never thought sharing my story of injuring myself and trying to salvage my season would get so many undies bunched up.  What a stupid thing to get wound up about.  Good luck guys/gals.  Have a nice rut!

...or, the crossbow guys could start their own thread and stay off the bowhunting thread!

Would you crossbow haters let it go. This isn’t the thread for that crap.  Start a “ I hate crossbows “ thread if you want to piss and moan. Congrat’s to all the successful hunters.

Sorry to bring it back up but THE DUDE summed it up perfect(no knock on him just crossbows in general). Bought a crossbow shot 4 arrows through and good to go. I pro marksman. Now one should be good to wound deer out to 100yds! And maybe teach my children to use one instead of learning with a compound. Injury and age should be the only legal reason..... Ruining bowhunting!

First sit of the year for me on public in southern wi. First time sitting pre-rut or rut in I don’t know how long. Nothing doing but man is it nice being in a tree! Good luck all and congrats to those that connected already.

Got out yesterday at 1505 and grunted after 10 minutes in the stand. Before I knew it this guy came in on a string. Shot him at 1523. He went maybe 70 yards with an amazing blood trail. Shwacker broadhead clipping the heart. Feeling blessed. Pre-rut is on in Door County.

Thanks CM....I will.

When I typed SIL....I meant my son-in-law.  Lol.  I wasn't thinking sister in law.

I was out yesterday morning and have not seen any shooters yet. Shot a doe 3 weeks ago and am waiting for a nice buck. Marquette County Harrisville area.

I saw 8 this morning.  Just one big group at 735am.  7 does/ fawns and one small buck.  They hung around for 30 minutes and left, never got closer than 50 yards.  Just got back out again for the evening
