caught enough crappies, 10" to 13", for a nice fish fry. took 2 hours to find them in 10'of water. most were full of spawn. brutal conditions with the wind today, trolling motor had trouble holding us. also got 2 pike, unfortunately both were bites offs after getting them up to the boat...but that's what 4# test line will do.

7 1/2” “ Kenosha Keepers “.  For supper tonight.      Really pickey as I had to downsize to a tiny tungsten jig with 1 spike.

I was able to make it out yesterday on the nice sunny day it was. Fished from 4pm till 8pm. I got 9 good crappies 10 to 12 inches. A couple 9 inchers. Just a rocket bobber, small split shot and a fathead minnow was all I used. Caught 4 bass and a pike too by mistake. One of them bass was 18 inches. Fun fight. Kept the crappies and had a late evening Friday fish fry after some brews when I got back. Great solo outing and boy did those crappies make a good dinner. I think they are very close to spawning here they are showing up on the typical spots.

Yellow bass have broken lateral lines that you can plainly see in the pic whereas on white bass those lines are straight.   You can’t go by color because after a yellow bass is dead for a while its color fades to the same coloring as a whitebass.   They sure are good eating and I almost have enough to pickle.    I catch mine mostly at night while fishing close to the bottom.      I also caught a large ( 5#? ) sheepshead.

Carpio, I caught a few of the yellowish colored bass last time out, I'm assuming those are the yellow bass and a whitish color would be a white bass ? Asking because I really haven't caught those as much.
I did fillet them up, they have good chunks of meat on them.

Wind is dying down so if I can get up around 3 I’ll try for some yellow bass.
