Fished the derby Saturday, caught a few perch and a buddy placed 3rd with his pike. Ditto on the snow patches being bad news. Just about every one I encountered with my track sled was a slushy mess. Definitely avoid the snow if you can if you're traveling on the lake. 

DEAD SEA, did mark a fish and no flags  was out Friday, ,came on from the north side. had 7 inches, i did come across a snow patch that only had 3. Be careful! Did see some four-wheelers out closer to the bar, a few permanent  to. 

I measured 3" of ice this morning in the southwest part of the lake. Chipping will th the spud and it was soft fractured ice on top with water in the middle. Last inch was clear and solid. Ice is being made as there were lots of booms and thuds. 

Huntfish, I was out last Saturday and there was 4" in most places except the deeper hole I wanted to fish, 1" there. 20 people out and I heard one small northern was caught. I had one flag in 6 hours and marked 1 fish on the graph

I have not been on w potato but I was on boundary lake just north of there on 1/6. I had 2.5-3” of ice.  Fishing was slow for me.  Hope this helps.
